General information for out-of-town applicants


During the Festival, out-of-town participants will receive room and board with three daily meals and ground transportation to attend all the official activities.


Applicants who do not live in Puerto Rico, must pay for their own ticket flight, to and from the country that they come as well as all their personal expenses. The student must not arrive in Puerto Rico before than Sunday, June 1, 2008 and do not arrive after the beginning of the festival. On the other hand, the participant must depart from Puerto Rico on Monday, June 23, 2008. If for any reason, a participant must stay in Puerto Rico after the official departure date on the 23rd of June, expenses for room, board and ground transportation to the airport shall be the responsibility of the participant from 6:00 p.m. of that day.

Participants from Center, South America and the Caribbean should communicate with the United States of America Embassy or Consulate of your Country to get the Visa.

The participants with US Citizen from any state and/or territory of United States of America (include Virgin Islands), must have their passport to travel to the Island. This new requirement began on December 31, 2005 from the United States air travel regulation.*

Those who are selected to participate in FOSJA will be notified. The registration fee for the amount of $300.00 USD in a money order should be received at the FOSJA Office on or before Friday, April 18, 2008. After this date will be applied an additional charge of
$30.00 USD.

For English speakers residents of Puerto Rico




English speaker’s residents of Puerto Rico will receive lunch meal and ground transportation for the official FOSJA activities out-of-town the metropolitan area. Please be advised that students who live in Puerto Rico within the Metropolitan Area, (Carolina, Canóvanas, Bayamón, Guaynabo, Trujillo Alto, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Dorado, Caguas, Cataño, Gurabo and Cayey) are NOT eligible for hotel accommodations and breakfast and dinner meals. Students enrolled in the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music or any other music schools around the metropolitan area do not have right to hotel accommodation.  We will NOT going to make exceptions for neither case.  




The student will be responsible to acquire the music scores for his/her audition. FOSJA neither the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra have them available. The registration fee for the amount of $150.00 USD in a money order should be received at the FOSJA Office on or before Fruday, May 9, 2008. After this date will be applied an additional charge of $30.00 USD.

The enrollment fee is non refundable if the student decides not to participate in our festival. The payment could be sent by mail or visiting our office at the physical address that appears in the back of the brochure. If you do not follow this requirement you are not going to be admitted in the program. Seats will be guaranteed until Monday, June 2, 2008. 


Accompanists Pianists

Advanced piano students from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music will be offered the opportunity to develop as a piano accompanist for soloists and chamber groups formed by FOSJA participants. Pianist to perform with the FOSJA orchestra will be selected through auditions with Maestro Luis Biava.
